Blloku is a fashionable neighborhood and cultural district in Tiranë, Albania, known for its cafés, restaurants, boutiques, and nightlife. Once a closed residential enclave for Albania's communist leadership, it has become one of the capital's most recognizable destinations and a symbol of the city's transformation since the early 1990s.

History

During the communist era, Blloku was off-limits to ordinary citizens and served as the residential quarter for senior government officials, including the former home of Enver Hoxha. After the fall of communism, the district opened to the public and gradually evolved into one of Tirana's liveliest commercial and social areas.

Today, Blloku is best explored on foot. Tree-lined streets are filled with specialty coffee shops, cocktail bars, restaurants, designer boutiques, galleries, and street art, making the neighborhood busy from morning until late at night.
