Velipoja Beach is a long sandy beach on Albania's northern Adriatic coast, located in Velipojë, Shkodër near the mouth of the Buna River. It is one of the country's best-known family beach destinations, valued for its wide shoreline, shallow waters, and combination of seaside recreation with nearby natural landscapes.
Setting and landscape

The beach stretches for roughly 5 kilometers, extending between the Buna River delta to the north and the Viluni Lagoon to the south. Its broad sandy shoreline is backed in many places by pine forests, creating a landscape that differs from the rocky coves of southern Albania's Ionian coast.
Beach experience

The sea generally has a gentle, shallow entry, making the beach popular with families and less confident swimmers. During the summer season, visitors can find sunbeds, umbrellas, cafés, restaurants, changing cabins, and other beach services concentrated around the central sections, while quieter stretches are available farther from the main resort area.
Nature and surroundings
One of Velipojë's distinguishing features is its proximity to several natural environments within a short distance of each other. The nearby Buna River delta and Viluni Lagoon support diverse birdlife and wetlands, making the area attractive not only for swimming but also for walking, photography, and nature observation.
