Ujëvara e Grunasit (Grunas Waterfall) is a dramatic waterfall in the Theth Valley of northern Albania, within Theth National Park in the Albanian Alps. Dropping roughly 30 meters over limestone cliffs, it is one of the area's most recognizable natural landmarks and has been protected as a natural monument since 2002.
Location and Landscape

The waterfall lies on the western side of the Theth Valley near the foot of the Boshit massif, surrounded by steep alpine terrain, karst formations, and dense mountain scenery. Meltwater emerging from karst springs feeds the cascade before it flows toward the Shala River, creating a striking contrast between white limestone rock and clear mountain water.
Visiting the Waterfall

Ujëvara e Grunasit is one of the most accessible natural attractions around Theth. A marked hiking trail leads from the village through meadows and riverside landscapes, typically taking about 30–60 minutes each way depending on the starting point and pace. The route is considered relatively easy and is popular with both casual visitors and hikers exploring the wider valley.
Connection to the Blue Eye Trail
Many travelers encounter the waterfall as part of the longer hike from Theth to the Blue Eye (Syri i Kaltër i Thethit). The waterfall is a common detour on this route and is often paired with visits to Nderlysaj, Grunas Canyon, and the Blue Eye spring, making it a key stop on one of Albania's most celebrated hiking circuits.
Why It Stands Out

What distinguishes Ujëvara e Grunasit is the combination of its height, pristine alpine setting, and ease of access. The powerful cascade, cool mountain air, and surrounding limestone landscape make it one of the signature photo locations in Theth and a representative example of the natural beauty of the Albanian Alps.
