Kanionet e Osumit are a dramatic river canyon system carved by the Osum River in the Skrapar region of southern Albania. Widely regarded as one of the country's most spectacular natural attractions, the canyon is known for its towering limestone walls, waterfalls, unusual rock formations, and adventure tourism opportunities.
Landscape and Geology

The canyon stretches for up to 26 kilometers and is believed to have formed over millions of years through water erosion cutting into limestone rock. Its walls rise steeply above the river, while narrow passages, caves, and karst formations create a landscape often compared to much larger canyon systems elsewhere in the world.
Natural Highlights

Several distinctive formations have become landmarks within the canyon, including features known as the Cathedral, the Eye, and the Devil's Door. Seasonal waterfalls descend from surrounding villages into the gorge, and the canyon supports a rich ecosystem with vegetation covering many of the slopes year-round.
Adventure and Visiting
Kanionet e Osumit are among Albania's best-known destinations for rafting, canoeing, hiking, and canyon exploration. Spring is especially popular because snowmelt raises water levels and activates many of the waterfalls. The rafting rapids are generally classified as Category II, making them accessible to many visitors without extensive prior experience.
