Ujëvara e Bogovës is a natural waterfall located near the village of Bogovë in the Berat region of Albania, within the broader area of the Tomorr Nature Park. Known for its crystal-clear water, emerald-green pool, and forested surroundings, it is considered one of the most scenic natural attractions near Berat and a popular destination for hiking, photography, and summer excursions.
Natural Setting

The waterfall drops roughly 20 meters into a deep turquoise pool fed by cold mountain water originating from the Tomorr massif. Dense vegetation, limestone formations, and a shaded river valley create a cool microclimate that makes the site especially attractive during the warmer months. The waterfall has been designated a Natural Monument because of its hydrological and aesthetic value.
Visiting Experience

Reaching the waterfall typically involves an easy-to-moderate walk through a narrow valley alongside a stream. Most visitors follow a trail of about 20–45 minutes, depending on the starting point and parking location. Along the route, small bridges, clear watercourses, and forest scenery contribute as much to the experience as the waterfall itself.
Swimming and Recreation

The pool beneath the falls is famous for its striking color and exceptionally cold water. Swimming is possible and popular in summer, although the water remains icy even during hot weather. The surrounding rocks provide places to relax, picnic, and enjoy the landscape, while photographers are drawn to the contrast between the turquoise water, moss-covered stones, and forest backdrop.
Location and Access
The waterfall lies near Bogovë, approximately one hour by road from Berat. Visitors usually arrive by car and continue on foot from a trailhead near the village or nearby waterworks area. The site is often combined with visits to nearby natural attractions in the Skrapar region, including the Osumi Canyon.
