Parku Kombëtar i Llogarasë is one of Albania’s most celebrated protected natural areas, located in Vlorë County where the rugged Ceraunian Mountains meet the Ionian coast. Established in 1966, the park is renowned for dramatic mountain-and-sea scenery, exceptional biodiversity, and its role as a gateway to the Albanian Riviera.
Landscape

The park spans rugged terrain where Mediterranean coastline meets alpine environments. Elevations range from roughly 470 meters to over 2,000 meters, creating a striking mix of dense pine and fir forests, mountain meadows, rocky cliffs, and panoramic viewpoints. The famous Llogara Pass cuts through the park, offering one of Albania's most scenic drives.
Wildlife and Nature

Protected since 1966, the park preserves ecosystems that support a rich variety of plants and animals. Forests of black pine, Bosnian pine, Bulgarian fir, and ash dominate much of the landscape, while birds of prey and other wildlife inhabit the mountainous terrain. Wind has sculpted several trees into unusual shapes, including the well-known Flag Pine (Pisha e Flamurit).
Visiting

The park is popular for scenic driving, hiking, photography, and nature observation. Several marked trails lead to viewpoints and mountain peaks overlooking the Albanian Riviera, while the cooler mountain climate makes it an attractive stop during summer trips along the coast. Visitors often combine a visit with nearby seaside destinations such as Dhërmi and Himarë.
Location

The park lies in Vlorë County, Albania, approximately 40 km southeast of the city of Vlorë. The address provided for this entry is WPR4+78H, Lushnjë, Albania, though this appears to correspond to a different mapped location than Llogara National Park itself. The national park is generally accessed via the SH8 road over Llogara Pass.
