Ksamil Beach

Among the most famous beaches in Albania. Turquoise waters and small islands off the coast and very popular with international tourists.

Ksamil Beach is a coastal attraction on Albania’s southern Ionian coast in the village of Ksamil, near Sarandë and the UNESCO-listed Butrint area. Known for its clear turquoise water, small offshore islands, and sheltered coves, it has become one of the most visited destinations on the Albanian Riviera and a defining symbol of Albanian beach tourism.

Setting and Landscape

The beach is not a single continuous shoreline but a collection of small coves and sandy stretches facing four tiny islands just offshore. The shallow, calm water and bright blue-green color create the scenery for which Ksamil is famous, while views extend across the Ionian Sea toward the Greek island of Corfu.

What Makes It Special

What Makes It Special

A defining feature of the area is the group of nearby islands, which can be reached by swimming, kayak, paddleboard, or short boat rides depending on conditions. The combination of beach relaxation, island-hopping, snorkeling, and easy access to historical attractions gives Ksamil broader appeal than a typical resort beach.
