Collections
The museum's permanent displays are organized into several thematic sections. Highlights include an archaeology pavilion, where more than 70% of the exhibited objects are original artifacts, a historical section covering the period around Albanian independence through 1939, and an ethnographic collection featuring traditional regional clothing and everyday objects made from clay, wood, reed, and metal.
Historical significance
Established in July 1978, the museum was developed with contributions from prominent Albanian archaeologists, historians, architects, and artists. Its collections help interpret the long history of the Fier region, an area closely associated with the nearby ancient city of Archaeological Park of Apollonia, one of Albania's most important archaeological sites.
