Drenova National Park, more formally known as Parku Kombëtar "Bredhi i Drenovës", is a protected national park in the Morava Mountains just southeast of Korçë. Established in 1966, it is known for its dense fir forests, mountain scenery, and network of hiking routes that make it one of the region's most popular outdoor destinations.
Landscape and natural features

The park covers roughly 1,380 hectares and includes a mix of silver fir, beech, pine, alpine meadows, and subalpine pastures. Its varied terrain also contains karst formations, natural springs, and striking rock landmarks, creating habitats for a diverse range of plants and wildlife.
Highlights

Several natural and cultural landmarks are scattered throughout the park. One of the best-known is Guri i Cjapit ("Billy-Goat Stone"), an unusual wind-shaped rock formation. Visitors also encounter historic religious sites, mountain springs such as Shën Gjergji (Saint George) Spring, and panoramic viewpoints across the Morava range.
Hiking

The park is especially popular for hiking, mountaineering, nature photography, and birdwatching. Trails range from relatively easy meadow walks to longer mountain loops with greater elevation gain. The park lies about 10 km from Korçë, making it a convenient day trip, although access is easiest by private car because public transportation is limited.
Wildlife and significance

The protected area serves as an important ecological corridor in southeastern Albania. Its forests support mammals including roe deer, wolves, and brown bears, while also providing habitat for numerous bird species and native flora. Beyond its conservation value, the park is an important destination for sustainable nature tourism in the Korçë region.
