Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ is the principal Eastern Orthodox cathedral in Korçë and one of the city's best-known religious landmarks. Completed in the 1990s after the fall of Albania's communist regime, it symbolizes the revival of religious life and is recognized for its monumental architecture, spacious interior, and prominent place in the city's cultural landscape.
Highlights

The cathedral stands on a broad square near the center of Korçë, making it a natural focal point for visitors exploring the city. Its large central dome, tall bell tower, and Byzantine-inspired design distinguish it from surrounding buildings, while the interior features colorful iconography, chandeliers, and carved ecclesiastical furnishings typical of Orthodox churches.
Historical significance

The cathedral was built after decades during which religious practice in Albania was severely restricted under the communist government. Its construction became a visible symbol of the country's renewed freedom of worship and the reestablishment of the Orthodox community in Korçë, a city with a long Christian heritage.
Visiting experience
Visitors are generally welcomed to admire both the exterior and interior, provided they behave respectfully during services. The spacious plaza around the cathedral offers good photo opportunities, and the church is especially striking when illuminated in the evening or during major Orthodox celebrations such as Christmas and Easter.
