Oriku Archaeological Park

Parku Arkeologjik i Orikut is an archaeological site near Orikum on Albania's Ionian coast that preserves the remains of the ancient city of Oricum (Orikos).

Founded around the 6th century BCE, it became an important port linking the Illyrian and Greek worlds and later played a strategic role during the Roman period because of its position at the entrance to the Bay of Vlorë.

The city's location beside the Pashaliman Lagoon made it a valuable maritime and trading center for centuries. Ancient authors mention Oricum as an important harbor, and archaeological research has uncovered evidence of Greek, Illyrian, and Roman occupation, illustrating the area's long history as a naval and commercial hub.
