Dardhë is a mountain village in the Korçë municipality of southeastern Albania. Known for its traditional stone architecture, cool alpine climate, and scenic setting, it has become one of the country's best-known mountain tourism destinations while retaining a strong sense of local heritage.
Location and landscape

Situated roughly 20 km southeast of Korçë at an elevation of around 1,300 meters, Dardhë is surrounded by forests and mountain terrain between the Morava and Gramoz ranges. The village offers hiking, cycling, and nature walks during the warmer months, while snowy winters make it a popular seasonal escape.
History and culture

Dardhë was established after the death of Skanderbeg by Orthodox Albanian families seeking refuge in the mountains during the Ottoman period. The village later became associated with education, emigration, and the Albanian national movement, with many residents contributing to Albanian communities in the United States and elsewhere. Today, its cobbled streets, stone homes, and Orthodox traditions remain central to its identity.
Tourism and activities

During winter, visitors come for skiing and snow activities at the nearby Bigëll ski area, which includes one of Albania's earliest modern ski lifts. In every season, Dardhë is appreciated for its fresh mountain air, traditional guesthouses, regional cuisine, and easy access from Korçë, making it a favored weekend destination for domestic and international travelers.
