Llixhat e Peshkopisë are a well-known thermal spring complex east of Peshkopi in the Dibër region of Albania. Fed by sulfur-rich thermo-mineral waters emerging from the Korab geological formations, the baths have long been one of the area's most visited natural attractions and a center for health and wellness tourism.
What It Is

The site consists of natural hot springs and developed bathing facilities centered around Llixhat e Peshkopise and related spa infrastructure. The springs are located roughly 1.5–2 kilometers east of Peshkopi, in a valley known for its therapeutic waters. Temperatures generally range from about 35°C to 43.5°C, making the pools comfortably warm year-round.
Thermal Waters

The waters are rich in sulfur compounds and dissolved minerals. Official Albanian tourism sources report high concentrations of hydrogen sulfide and other minerals, which have traditionally been associated with balneotherapy treatments. Visitors often come for relaxation and for traditional therapeutic use related to rheumatic, skin, respiratory, and musculoskeletal conditions, although such uses should not be considered a substitute for professional medical care.
History and Significance

The springs have been frequented for generations and became a recognized public bathing destination in the early 20th century, when the first public pools were constructed. Today, they remain one of the defining attractions of Peshkopi and draw visitors from across Albania, as well as neighboring Kosovo and North Macedonia.
Why It Matters
Llixhat e Peshkopisë combines natural geology, local tradition, and wellness tourism in one destination. Beyond the baths themselves, the surrounding Dibër landscape offers mountain scenery and a less-traveled side of Albania, making the springs both a health retreat and a gateway to the wider region.
